codwaw freezes black when starts

i just got cod5 and i knew i had the minimum system requiremnts and ive played cod4 before on the same computer wich i hear has the same engine http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h186/__1__/sysstats.jpgwhen i start the game i get the message that the game didnt shut down properly last time do you want to do a safe start even wen it was the first time for starting the gamesingle or multi player safe start or not the game title pops up then the screen goes black and i can see my cursor go away(ive waited up to 30minutes for something to happen) then i have to do a hard shut down becasue ctrl alt del and esc or anything else dosnet work ive think ive tried just about everyhitng on the activision support site and have rebooted, reinstalled, cleanup-ed, defraged and all that but cant get any farther than a black screeni might call the activsion hotline tomorrow and see if they can help me there codwaw freezes black when starts
