What is ani aliasing?

I know it's something to do with graphics but what is it?What is ani aliasing?
It's like sharpening the edges of... stuff... in games. You can think of it as coloring between the lines. What is ani aliasing?
It doesn't make a big difference to the visual, but half the time, it causes the game to lag. When I turned off AA in Crysis, it made a huge difference.
Actually it makes a bigger difference for lower game resolutions, in other words if you have a high-end PC and play your games at resolutions much higher than 1280x1024, then you DON'T need to enable anti-aliasing even though you PC can handle it better than older, slower PCs....

[/QUOTE]Yea, that's true, I run my games in high resolution but AA does tend to lag the game alot.
o kk ty
Its jesus in technological form.He always said he would come back.

eh? I have a 24'' monitor and play all of my games at 1920x1200 _all_ of them look better with AA enabled. Just because I play games at 1920x1200 doesn't mean I can't see the jaggies! Sucks that some games lag like all hell with it enabled, but if they don't God they look good!
Anti-aliasing is way of sharpening the jagged edges of a screen. It chews up quite a bit of video memory while do it, however.
Itll smooth out the edges and lines and whatnot but usually drops your framerate drastically.

It makes sense that you would not see as much of an improvement for x8 AA at 1920x1200 than at 1280x1024...

LMAO.
why do people ask these questions ????why is it so hard to look for your self just turn option on and open your eyes :P
When in doubt, use Google. :P
Google dat joint cuz!!,lol
Yea, Google Jesus and his forces of lag
It's an essential graphical feature, and hurts to play without.
Anti Aliasing helps you to see the farest picture/view in a clear mode , as you see far ahead the vision gets blurred AA helps there by improving the image.
