3d Strategy/Adventure/Shooter Games? Just got a new video card..

Hello, I'm a bit new on gamespot. I don't game much, but I am a huge fan of Resident Evil, Grand Theft Auto and any games created by Maxis.I bought a cheap desktop computer, it was like $600.00... Got it a few months ago, and decided to get a video card to try out some games. (nVidia GeForce 9500 GT, isn't GREAT but as far as I've read online people said they can play games like Crysis and such so I think it will work).I've stuck with 2d games/old school games like Age of Empires 2, Emporer: Rise of the middle kingdom, SimCity 4000 etc.I've gone up and down the list of the best and highested rated PC games and most of the games are the same cliche shooter games? Maybe that's just me, I haven't actually been able to play the games nor do I want to (I don't like the scenarios, stories, characters etc).I was wondering if anyone can suggest 2d or newer games for the PC? I plan on saving up for GTA IV and hoping to get 1701ad as well but I don't know if either will even work on my computer so I'd like to have other choices but I don't have much money to throw away on games I won't play for more than a few hours. I'm interested in futuristic, historical, horror and modern games... and I am trying to find some sort of end of the human race survival type of game? I don't know which is best.Any suggestions are awesomely appreciated.. Thanks, Andrew 3d Strategy/Adventure/Shooter Games? Just got a new video card..
I have exactly the same card, I can run Crysis on medium, and mostly every other game that has came out recently.3d Strategy/Adventure/Shooter Games? Just got a new video card..
That's a relief, should be a new experience. I haven't ever played a decent 3D game on my computer. Thanks for the reply.
Get The Orange Box.
