I have been hearing that GTA 4 is officially the most demanding game on the PC market now. Does that mean that GTA4 has better graphics than Crysis and Crysis Warhead? Or is it simply not very well optimized? GTA4 most demanding game?
No, it just means it was programmed poorly,,,,many many many other games look a LOT better than GTA IV!GTA4 most demanding game?
No, it just means Euphoria really needs a quad. All the dual-core users that complain forget that the 360 has a triple-core and still runs the game like crap.

It has nothing to do with that.
yeah it's the most demanding game right now.
Its demanding due to its poor optimization. If you can pick it up on consoles.

True. I have a quad and it runs like crap anyway
the game is extremely poorly ported. what i mean mostly is that the game limits graphical settings based on how much video ram is available, so i can't do better than 1650x1050, medium settings, 10 draw distance, but i'm getting 60fps on that setting! it's simply retarded. i totally wouldn't mind sacrificing 20-30 fps if i can play it 1650x1050, high settings, and more draw distance. a freaking q9550 + crossfired 4850s shouldn't be limited to 1650x1050, medium settings.
No, it just means Euphoria really needs a quad. All the dual-core users that complain forget that the 360 has a triple-core and still runs the game like crap.
wrong, the 360 runs it fine. gta4 is up there in the hardest games to run category.

not it doesnt run it well... well its a bad optimization eg on some video cards you can run it fully but every building dissapears
It is a very demanding game. To crank the settings up to high requires at least 1gb of video memoryits also quite cpu intensive as well..6 months from now all this crap will be sorted out by people having improved pcs
SO if you can max out Crysis, can you atleast play GTA4 on high at 1280x1024?
Also, @albi
LOL at the canadian flag

Also, @albi LOL at the canadian flag
Not on high, since Crysis takes advantage of sli which will allow you run the game on max at 60 fps. GTAiV has little/no sli support so you will be running it at medium.

Its poorly optimized as of now with insain system specs.
FSX is still the most demanding, GTA4 was just poorly optimised.

Yes, The reason is that the game has no loading when traveling and therefor the computer has to create the city and it's inhabitants in realtime. Traffic constantly flows, weather, events, also how it is affected by you.
There's a whole heap of scripts, textures, sounds and the like that are to work at once and that needs a powerful computer.
Game is really badly optimsed. With an 8800GT, 2GB RAM and Core 2 Duo E6600 I could only get 15-25 FPS.Changing the graphics settings only made around 5 frames difference.I returned the game as ''faulty software''.
