Even with all the settings turned to the minimum I struggle to get 25fps. My computer
E8400 OC to 3.6
Radeon 4850
4 GB DDR2
500gb hdGTA IV Performance?
btw it's not a problem with my hardware, or drivers. I get better FPS in crysis with all settings on high :SGTA IV Performance?
There are a lot of great guides out to tweak GTA. Firstly, try and kill the video editor, from what I heard you have to be in game to do it though. Second, kill the shadows. I won't be buying this till they remove the DRM, remove all Microsoft apps and they give a public apology, more precisely 2 of them. The first one for releasing this junk, the second one for not admitting they washed up on this one and trying to blame their consumers lmao they really lost it. Also, I won't be buying this before they go back to work on fixing their half-assed, rushed, pos, broken down, failed garbage.

Agreed. Also there's a new patch you can d/l.

You must not buy many games. ;)
TC - for me the biggest frame rate increases came from turning the shadow density slider to 0, and turning off the clip recorder as mentioned above.
Runs decent here, shadows are set low though

Vice City is one of my favourite games of all times. I played Vice online for 5 years and I can't even explain how much I waited for IV. I even waited to upgrade only for GTA IV lmao. Nah it's okay, I have been aware of the stagnation of gaming since like 2001 so it's not like I got caught with my pants down on this one...I realized Rockstar had royally failed when they announced their plan to recycle a city rofl, seriously that's all it took. I have people on msn who can testify I called it years back. You don't recycle a city Rockstar, come on. I don't have to relist all of the other great ideas they also put in GTA but I'd like to mention what is obvious they should have done instead!- Spike strips armoured vehicle, just like the bomb shop, only you get a spike strip - MMO based action game based on the taking over the city system from Vice- Hireable bodygards and gang members- Interactable NPCs. - Custom licens plates - Manual carlights- Manual control of the projector on the police chopper - Destructable enviroment - Ability to pick up and throw/drop items. (say throw a rock through a window or bowling bowl from a roof) - Pimp my heater (total customiaztion of a wide variaty of guns, colour, spare parts; laser sight, extended clip, sound suppressor etc. etc.) - Where is my teargas, my smoke grenades, my katana sword ? That's just of the top of my head, I could go all night and I mean ALL night. The insanely sad part is, this is the high fidelity uber, super, mega ''next generation'' lmao. The stagnation of gaming is now in everyone's face. Welcome to my world ;/
I think R* decided to go the way of Crytek and release game with some expandability left for future. Don't expect to run GTA IV on high, only few of PC gamers could run Crysis on high when it came out too. I am sure R* plans to release dozen or so expansion packs using same engine, so it had to be future-proof. Look at San Andreas, a lot of features in there are very limited b/c GTA III engine was very dated.
Game never crashed on me and it runs just fine on medium/high settings.

An age thing you say? I'm in my 30s and I for 1 have just accepted that DRM is part of the modern PC gaming scene.
This game failed both technically and on game content, astronomically - even if it does run on your comp.
